How to Send an Email?
When you compose an email, you will be using the compose window. This is where you add the recipient’s email address, subject, and body of the email, which is the message itself. You will also be able to add different types of text formatting, as well as one or more attachments. If you want, you can also create a signature that will be added at the end of all the emails you send.
To how to send an email, follow these easy steps:
- In the left-hand menu window, click the Compose button.
- The compose window will appear in the lower right corner of the page.
- You will need to add one or more recipients to the To: field. You can do this by typing in one or more email addresses, separated by commas, or you can click To to select recipients from your contacts, and then tap Select.
- Type the subject of the message.
- In the body section, type your message. When you are done, hit Send.
If the person you email is already one of your contacts, you can start typing that person’s first name, surname, or email address, and Gmail will display the contact below the To: field. You can press Enter to add a person to the To: field.
How to Add Attachments?
Attachment is simply a file (such as a photo or document) sent with your email. For example, when you apply for a job, you can send your resume as an attachment, the body of the email is a cover letter. It is a good idea to include a message in the body of your email explaining what the attachment is, especially if the recipient is not expecting the attachment.
Remember to attach your file before clicking Send. Forgetting to attach a file is surprisingly common error.

- While composing the email, click the paper clip icon at the bottom of the compose window.
- A file upload dialog box will appear. Select the file you want to attach, then click Open.

You can hit Send before the attachment finishes uploading. It will continue to upload, and Gmail will automatically send an email when finished.

How to Add a signature?
A Signature, It’s an optional text block that appears after all the emails you send. By default, Gmail does not include signatures, but it is easy to create. It will usually include your name and other contact information, such as your phone number or email address. If you use Gmail at work, you may want to enter your title and address of your company or website.
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the page, then select Settings.
- Scroll down until you see part of the signature.
- Type your favorite signature in the box. You can also change the font, add another formatting, or insert an image if you want.
- Scroll down to the page, and click Save Changes.
You should keep your signature short. Instead of listing all your phone numbers, email addresses, and postal addresses where you can be reached, simply write down the most important ones.
Note: Keep in mind that your signature will be seen by many different people, so you may not want to include your home address or anything else that is very personal to you. Even if you send an email only to people you know, someone can still forward your email to someone else, which may reveal your signature to even more people.
